Want to Compete in DanceSport?

Have you ever wanted to try DanceSport competition but weren’t sure where to start?

Ballroom Fit is excited to announce Phase 3 of our DanceSport Competition Introduction Course, commencing Monday, 24 August 2026, from 6:00–7:00 pm at Belmont Hub, 213 Wright Street, Cloverdale.

This course is designed to introduce new dancers to the technical skills, confidence and floorcraft needed to take their first steps into DanceSport competition, with the goal of competing in the Recreational First Year Registered events at the DanceSport WA Open Championship.

The Program

The course will be delivered in two stages:

1. Ballroom Fit Australian Dancing Society Award – 8 weeks
📅 From Monday, 24 August 2026 to Friday, 16 October 2026
💰 Cost: $160

The class will work towards a dress rehersal at the Ballroom Fit Australian Dancing Society Award examinations.

2. DanceSport WA Open Championship – 5 weeks
📅 From Monday, 19 October 2026 to Saturday, 21 November 2026
💰 Cost: $100

The final stage will prepare participants to compete at the DanceSport WA Open Championship.

Discounts are available for dancers who know in advance that they are unable to attend all sessions.

Phase 3 Dances

The dances featured in Phase 3 will be:

💃 Waltz & Quickstep
💃 Cha Cha Cha & Rumba
💃 Merilyn & Evening Three Step

These dances have been selected as suitable for beginner competitors.

Supporting New Competitors

Earlier this year, Phases 1 and 2 introduced 17 new dancers to DanceSport through our introductory courses.

Phase 3 continues this initiative, providing a welcoming and supportive pathway for new dancers to develop their skills and experience their first DanceSport competition.
